About Me
About Julie Gerber
Therapist in California
I believe personal growth is an ongoing process. Therapy is one way to step back, reflect, and create meaningful change in your life.
My work focuses on helping clients understand the deeper patterns that shape their relationships, emotional responses, and sense of self.
Therapy isn’t about fixing who you are. It’s about understanding the experiences that shaped you and creating space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others.

My Approach
In our sessions, I foster a warm and casual environment in which I aim to be an accurate mirror for what’s happening internally and connect dots you haven’t yet seen.
We’ll explore the patterns in your life, where they began, and how they continue to influence your relationships, emotions, and decisions today.
I also believe therapy should move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Some sessions focus on insight and understanding. Others focus on practical tools or deeper emotional processing. Together we find the approach that supports you best.
Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and easy to talk to. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable exploring your true self and what you are experiencing.
My Background
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a California attorney.
That background gave me unique insight into how challenging relationships can be, whether with family, friends, or professional colleagues.
Since then, I have worked in community counseling agencies, as a therapist in a high school setting, and with Teen Line, a crisis line run by teens for teens. These experiences helped shape my understanding of how powerful it can be when people feel genuinely seen and supported.
Outside of therapy, I am a mom to three boys. Much of my time is spent with my family, but when I do have free time, I enjoy running, reading, and listening to audiobooks during long walks.
